Heathrow’s first ever hotel reopens
Heathrow airport’s original hotel The Stanwell has reopened after a multi-million pound refurbishment. Originally known as The Stanwell Hall, it has now undergone a complete transformation thanks to its new owners The Inn-genious Hotel group.
Located in an acre of grounds that overlook a 13th century church and a village green, the hotel first opened in 1951. The number of rooms was only 19 to begin with but now boasts 54 rooms, together with a meeting room which can hold up to 60 people. The restaurant is now under the watchful eye of executive chef Manuel Zamora, and overlooks the hotel gardens.
Kate Green, general manager said: “The Stanwell is full of character and we believe this hotel will bring something different to the local community as well as transient guests. We are already taking bookings for weddings, lunches, dinners and training courses. The feedback has been very positive, especially about the very reasonable bar prices.”
