Delta Airlines has this week commenced inaugural services between Heathrow and Miami…The US airline has announced the latest route addition as part of its major expansion plans. Part of these plans include a unique agreement with several other key airlines; KLM, Air France and Alitalia. This will allow them to coordinate flights and share costs and revenues of the new service which brings together Florida and three major European cities: London, Paris and Amsterdam.

“The power of our successful joint venture allows Delta, Air France and KLM to embark on this significant international expansion in Florida, with new service connecting the state to these important European cities,” said Glen Hauenstein, Delta’s executive vice president – Network Planning, Revenue Management and Marketing. “Our new nonstop service will provide an economic boost on both sides of the Atlantic.”

In conjunction with its new service between Miami and London, Delta has also added new nonstop service between Miami and Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa. Those flights, operated by Delta Connection carrier Comair, began on March 26 and will provide convenient connecting service for Florida customers traveling to Heathrow.
